Playnote and Keynote Topics

Keynote Topics:

Collaborating the Extra Mile While Stopping to Smell the Roses – We have all heard the phrases “going the extra mile” and/or “stop and smell the roses” at least once in our lifetime. What if going an extra yard or two is good enough?Or what would happen if we had the ability to add reflective pit stops as we Beach in Vancouver, BCrace to our next destination? Our world is continuing to move at an increasing pace, with unchecked expectations, lack of common sense, and a perceived inability to slow things down. Listen to a number of hilarious stories based on the state of our modern fast life. Most importantly find out how to incorporate collaborative approaches, 30-day workplace challenges and easy ways to slow down. Stop and smell the roses before you go the extra mile… or else you may be going in the wrong direction.

The Believing Story – How a little girl taught her youth worker the importance of just “believing” in your gut instinct. From the age of 12, this struggling pre-teen slowly built a relationship with her youth worker one experience and conversation at a time. One day, she inadvertently saved her youth worker by simply asking a profound question of him. Since then, this remarkable girl and her youth worker have had one heck of a journey discovering the importance of believing in each other and most importantly, believing in themselves.

Travelling Tales of Gratitude and Compassion
– The simple acts of gratitude learned during my travels overseas: from the less fortunate who taught me some of the riches of life, from the Thai monk who lived in a cave where my Grandfather was a World War II Prisoner of War, to the poor indigenous mother on a bus in Guatemala who gave me the most incredible orange, to the mysterious night custodian in New Orleans.

Being Mindful of Faulty Perceptions – Making assumptions based on faulty perceptions can leave a person feeling damaged or hurt. Understanding the roots of perceptions and how we come to make assumptions is critical knowledge if you believe in the importance of respect. Hear the stories of how an inner city school did a 180, what happens when you attend the University of Life, and Arctic poop accidents.
