Jeff Willis, C.Y.W. / Founder & Principal Consultant of Creative Toolbox/Fireside Adventures
As a skilled speaker, facilitator and workshop presenter, Jeff has spent nearly 20 years working with a wide variety of communities, businesses, public/independent schools, community programs, camps and non-profit organizations across Canada.
Jeff specializes in helping organizations and people to think out of the box, work more collaboratively together and to build a sense of appreciation of the assets they have.“Inspiring the Future” is what Creative Toolbox consistently does.“Challenge, Strive and Learn” is how Fireside Adventures makes its mark as a leader in outdoor education. Jeff believes we need to challenge ourselves to discover our potential in order to continue to inspire the future, while always striving to learn more.
Jeff’s passion to develop Creative Toolbox and Fireside Adventures stemmed from his experiences of being an experiential educational consultant, travelling abroad, working as a Child and Youth Worker and his leadership training within the outdoor recreation industry.
Tyson Shmyr, Consultant/Facilitator, B.A. Sociology
Tyson has worked with adults, families, children and youth with various developmental, physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges. He has also worked with a diverse group of professionals in developing and implementing behavior treatment programs in a variety of settings. Tyson has presented training workshops and facilitated parenting groups. He promotes and encourages the development of skills and those unique abilities that everyone possesses to contribute to their communities' success and progress.
Mike Kent, Consultant/Facilitator
Mike is an experiential educator, facilitator, consultant, outdoor leader and youth worker. He is the owner of Ripple Effect Consulting Inc., a company committed to community and individual growth and capacity building. He is also involved with Freedom Quest Regional Youth Services, an agency that provides drug and alcohol counseling, prevention and outreach services to youth in the West Kootenay Boundary Region, as their Recreation and Recreational Risk Management Coordinator. Since 1997, Mike has worked with programs and projects focusing on leadership training, wilderness experience, therapeutic drug and alcohol treatment, conflict resolution, personal development, experiential education and community capacity building.
Brent Mansfield, Consultant / Facilitator, B.Sc, B.Ed
Brent is trained as a teacher, but does his best work outside in the garden. He feels very privileged to be able to split his time between being a school garden coordinator and an elementary school teacher. Brent sees the growing and cooking of food as a powerful educational tool for exploring a just, sustainable and healthy future. Brent believes what and how a community eats needs to be at the centre of community building and social change. He enjoys helping others become more connected to food and the land through community gardens and cooking.

Brett Heneke, B.Ed
Brett is an organic farmer, certified teacher, musician, wilderness guide and outdoor environmental educator with over 17 years working with community orgainzation, camps and schools. Brett co-foundedthe Rolling Earth Centre which hosts adult and youth groups focusing on teaching and learning about food, wilderness and sustainability.

Sean Magee, B.Sc in Environmental Science
Sean has 10 years of experience in outdoor education, is a certified canoeing and kayaking instructor, has experience in politics, is a community organizer, and loves the outdoors. He is passionate about inspiring people to think outside of the box in order to reach their fullest potential. The amazing youth that he has encountered have been his main source of inspiration. He believes that being able to see life and the world through childrens eyes is like seeing the future. And if we are going to tackle what lies ahead we need to try and see into the future. Sean is now focusing on helping people make the connection between environmental sustainability and social justice in Vancouver Public Schools.
Seasonal Staff and Volunteers
Creative Toolbox is blessed with a number of seasonal staff, volunteers and supporters that seem to grow in number each year. We absolutely respect their hard work, big hearts and creative input. Without their consistent and caring support, Creative Toolbox would not be able to achieve the goals we set to engage and institute positive change within our participants and community.
